Precautions for Welding PE Electrofuion Fittings

1. During installation, organic matter and other substances are strictly prohibited from contaminating the inner wall of the electrofusion fitting and the welding area of the pipe. The oxidation layer must be polished and removed evenly and comprehensively. (Take care to remove them)

 2. During site installation, one or two electrofusion  fittings should be used for reliability welding stripping test in advance, and then peeled to check the caking ability of the pipe and  fitting.

 

 3. According to the temperature and working voltage of the field environment and the welding machine, the welding time can be properly compensated or the parameters can be adjusted.

4. According to the requirement of the electrofusion welding machine power supply input matching, shall not be less than the required input voltage,  welding machine in the power distance, insist on the power lines to diameter, the greater the lest appear under voltage influence welding quality (under 8 kw welding power with national standard 4 square, more than 8 kw with national standard 6 square line, cable length is not more than 100 meters).

5. Pipe installation, elbow, tee  fittings must be done pier reinforcement or bracket fixation and appropriate pipeline compensation.

6. The power of the welder should match the size of the product specification and the power required by the welding parameters. The cutting edge of the pipe shall be sealed with an extrusion welding gun. It is strictly forbidden to use the unsealed pipe. If the cutting edge is not sealed, welding construction is not allowed.

7. When welding pipe fittings, keep away from the welding pipe fittings until the welding is completed and cooled for 30 seconds. In case someone gets hurt.

 

FAQ

1. In the welding of electrofusion fittings, the oxidationlayer is not polished completely, and the dust and debris are not polished clean, which may easily lead to the separation of both ends of virtual welding of fittings, falling off under pressure, water seepage, and even breaking fittings.

2. Polish the oxidation layer with  blades, and it is forbidden to use cutting blades instead. blades should be replaced frequently, and blades with serious wear are forbidden to polish.

3. If the insertion depth is not in place, the copper wire will be exposed during the welding of pipe fittings, which may easily lead to smoke, slurry and even fire.

4. If there is smoke spray, reduce welding time by 10% to 20% in the last section, PE solid wall pipe can reduce welding time by 10% to 30%.

5. The copper head of the welding line of the welding machine should be closely matched and vertical when inserted into the pipe fitting. Otherwise, it will lead to bad contact and break the copper wire of the pipe fittings or the copper head part of the welded pipe fittings.

6. If the temperature difference in the environment is large,  or over 250mm of the pipes on both sides of the electrofusion  fittings must be fixed with a pulser to prevent any disconnection of the welded pipe fittings.

7. When the pipeline is pressed, it must exhaust. Water should be injected at the lowest point and gas should be discharged at the highest point.
